Two minutes at: A2 STEAM

Editor’s Note: This is one in a series of two-minute videos offering a quick glimpse into one of AAPS’ 32 schools. At AAPS, our vision is: Every Child. Every Day. Every one fully sees, values, and celebrates each child for exactly who they are, the gifts and strengths they bring to this world.

Northside Elementary reopened with a new name—Ann Arbor STEAM @ Northside (A2 STEAM for short)—in the fall of 2014. The school focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (the familiar STEM), as well as the arts—at the request of parents—which makes it STEAM.

Project-based learning is the framework for designing, teaching, and organizing most of the curriculum for the 591 students in grades Young 5’s through 8. In addition, there are many Project Lead The Way offerings.
