After 15 years, TA Ann Mooney is retiring from the Ann Arbor Public Schools.

Mooney worked half-time first at Haisley and then at Lawton Elementary. A social worker, she spent much of her time in the resource rooms with special needs students. “I will miss them hugely,” she said.

While working in the district she was also a researcher for the University of Michigan Depression Center. “So it’s not like I’m retiring and going to be sitting, eating bon-bons,” she said. Instead, she will continue on with her work for U-M, as a research coordinator and co-investigator on different projects.
