Dearborn students showcase Arabic music at AAPS during Arab American Heritage Month

Students and staff at Allen and Carpenter schools were treated this week to Arabic music performed by the Maples Ensemble from Maples Elementary in Dearborn.

The concerts were held to celebrate Arab American Heritage Month and to remind students of the beauty of the Arabic culture, said Reema Jarjoura, King Elementary teacher who is an Ann Arbor Arab American Advisory member.

“Especially during this very difficult time,” she said, “we need to remember that music is something that we can all enjoy, and that it can bring us together.”
