Sessions set for prospective Community High freshmen

Three parent and student orientation sessions are scheduled for Ann Arbor school district families interested in applying for one of 108 open freshman slots at Community High School for the 2010-11 school year.

Meetings will run from 7-8:30 p.m. at the school, 401 North Division St., downtown Ann Arbor, on the following dates:
• Tuesday, Jan. 19.
• Wednesday, Feb. 3.
• Thursday, Feb. 11.

To be eligible, applicants must be current eighth-graders, meet the district’s residency requirements at the time of application, attend an orientation meeting with parent or guardian and submit a completed application by the deadline of 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010.  The school’s random selection will be done on Feb. 17, 2010.

Application packets are available at all Ann Arbor middle schools, The Ann Arbor Public Schools Balas Administration Building, 2555 South State St., and at Community High School, 401 N. Division St. Applications may also be downloaded from the school’s Web site.
