The Victor Wooten Trio may be sold out at The Ark tonight, but Wooten—a five-time Grammy-winning bass player—, as well as saxophonist Bob Franceschini, were more than happy to perform for students at Community High School this afternoon.
They also performed with CHS musicians as well as sat in the audience and critiqued their performances in the interactive two-hour presentation.
Wooten and Franceschini are friends of CHS Jazz Program Director Jack Wagner.
“We are just so fortunate to have these two masters spend time with us,” said Wagner. “With just a sentence or two, they can flip everything upside down and open students up to new ways of creativity. The kids change significantly and immediately, right in front of you. And, of course, their playing level is otherworldly — mostly due to the great wisdom they possess.”

A fantastic experience for the CBS jazz band, and for those of us in the audience.
