All aboard! Chartwells’ Global Eats event offers Tappan Middle School students a culinary trip to China

All aboard!

Chartwells’ latest Global Eats event took place Friday at Tappan Middle School, where students were invited to enjoy some Chinese food in a festive atmosphere.

On the menu: Bang Bang Chicken or Tofu, brown rice, Mixed veggies, egg roll, and a fortune cookie.

Developed by Chartwells chefs and dietitians, along with input from students, Global Eats “turns food into a worldly adventure and encourages students to eat together and taste new foods and flavors while learning about different cultures.”

The next Global Eats will be held Feb. 1 at Huron High School, when students will be treated to dishes specific to several American states.

  1. So far featuring different countries and cuisine has been a huge hit at the schools. Children at all levels look forward to these events. We have noticed a increase of children eating on these days of 30%. They enjoy the ambience just as much as the featured dish. Definitely a huge hit.
