Jennifer Post-Niner says the best part of Teacher Appreciation Week was watching her American Sign Language students from Community and Pathways high schools perform the National Anthem in sign language at a Tigers baseball game. The students were joined by ASL Teacher Brooke McCully and some of her students.

“The best gift of Teacher Appreciation week was watching all the hard work my students put in the past few weeks practicing the National Anthem and then to be able to have the honor of performing it at the Tigers Game in front of a big crowd,” said Post-Niner. “I am so incredibly proud and honored to be able to teach these students, the students are from Community, Pathways, and Pioneer and they represented Ann Arbor Public Schools with 100 percent class and respect. I am so lucky to work at two unique schools where the students love learning American Sign Language and are open to learn and share ASL.”

Jen Niner is a gift to AAPS! She has truly embraced the “Lead. Care. Inspire. Engage.” With our students. My daughter has learned so much from her about life as well as ASL. Thank you for making a positive difference!
