Video: AAPS welcomes students to Day One of the 2024-25 school year

Ann Arbor Public Schools welcomed 17,000 students to 31 buildings on Monday, Aug. 26.

The playgrounds, hallways and classrooms were filled with students eager—and in some cases, a bit nervous—to begin a new academic year. Teachers and staff greeted familiar faces and newcomers alike, ready to embark on another season of learning and growth.

Students of the Westerman Preschool and Family Center will begin classes on Tuesday, Sept. 3 following the four-day Labor Day Weekend.
