Two minutes at: Slauson Middle School

Editor’s Note: This is one in a series of two-minute videos offering a quick glimpse into one of AAPS’ 32 schools. At AAPS, our vision is Every Child. Every Day. Every one fully sees, values, and celebrates each child for exactly who they are, the gifts and strengths they bring to this world.

Opened in 1937 and named in honor of Herbert Slauson, a former AAPS superintendent, Slauson Middle School is the home of the 701 proud Slauson Golden Bears.

The diverse and vibrant school has long stood as a mainstay of Ann Arbor’s classic Old West Side neighborhoods.

Check out the video from 2019 when Principal Lisa Anglin and Superintendent Jeanice Swift tell staff that Slauson had been named a Michigan Middle School to Watch.
