Two minutes at: Dicken Elementary

Editor’s Note: This is one in a series of two-minute videos offering a quick glimpse into one of AAPS’ 32 schools. At AAPS, our vision is Every Child. Every Day. Every one fully sees, values, and celebrates each child for exactly who they are, the gifts and strengths they bring to this world.

Dicken Elementary celebrated its 60th anniversary four years ago. The school was named after Carrie Dicken, the longtime principal of Perry Elementary School, which is now the University of Michigan’s Perry Building.

Located on the city’s west side south of Stadium and north of Scio Church, Dicken is a neighborhood school with plenty of spirit and is home to 297 Dicken Dolphins in grades Young 5’s through fifth.
