The action on the field at Huron High School Thursday reflected two of Ann Arbor Public Schools’ core values: working together, and respect for all.

On the second annual A2 Unified Day, general education and special education students in AAPS middle and high schools competed together in track and field events and bocce ball.

Participants were students in the Peer-to-peer Mentoring Program who have worked together throughout the school year to boost communication skills, make friends, and just have fun.

Enjoying the day were 316 student mentors, mentees and volunteers, 82 staff members, and 20 adult volunteers.

The elementary students will compete on Friday. See that schedule here: ElementaryUnifiedDay.
