Skyline Crew team excels at state competition; rows its way to 2nd overall

Skyline won five event state championships, taking home 2 silvers and 2 bronzes while earning finals in 10 other events

The Skyline High School crew team won an impressive 2nd place overall at the recent state competition, behind Northville High School.

En route to the 2nd place win as a team, Skyline won five event State Championships, took two silvers, two bronzes, and made finals in 10 other events (top 6). 
The winning boats were: women’s varsity double: Lior Cooper and Kit Bellovin; men’s varsity double: Ethan Gibb-Randall and Kian Bukowski; women’s varsity quad: Gretel Ham, Zara Abston, Samantha Chiang, and Emma Pettigrew; women’s varsity single: Olivia Hansen; men’s varsity single: Grayson Schultz.

The rowers are now competing in the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) National Championship in Philadelphia.
