Six members of the Pioneer & Skyline Choirs were selected to participate in the MSVMA All-State Honors Choir.  Students from across Michigan audition in October, and the top 500 are selected to participate in Regional Honors Choir in December.  Those students complete a second audition process in December, and the top 240 are selected for State Honors Choir in January.  The top 80 voices, state-wide, are then selected for the All-State Honors Choir in May.

The MSVMA All-State Festival is the highest designation in Michigan, recognizing the top soloists, ensembles, and choirs from across the state.  The students will travel to Michigan State University from May 8-10, to sing under the direction of Dr. Marques L. A. Garrett, associate professor of choral studies at the University of North Texas.

Congratulations to:

  • Pioneer High School Choirs: Lily Drummond, Liam Kaleba, and Gabby Thompson
  • Skyline High School Choirs: Claire Hurley, Leif TenBrink, & Ellie Westhoff
