Pittsfield Elementary’s first Pittsfield Mileage Club Mini Marathon on Wednesday raised money for the ChadTough Foundation as well as some additional physical education equipment.
Who showed up for a few minutes to lend support?  Hint: He’s not bad with a football. In fact, he’s likely NFL-bound. OK. He’s Michigan quarterback Dylan McCaffrey, who has been at Pittsfield as part of U-M’s Mentorship Program.

University of Michigan quarterback Dylan McCaffrey took a break from his work inside Pittsfield as part of the Michigan Mentorship to support the students on the playground raising money for the ChadTough Foundation.

Physical Education teacher Darcy Thorpe-Knoll said the students were excited to raise money for such a worthy cause.

“It’s been going great,” she said. “It’s our first one. We’re trying to promote healthy fitness activity and do a good community service.”

They raised about $600.  The event is sponsored by catch.org.
