On Thursday, February 16, the Pioneer High School A Cappella Choir will perform in a shared concert celebrating the music of acclaimed composer Stacey V. Gibbs and Black History Month.  The concert, titled Psalms, Hymns, and Spirituals: The Music of Stacey Gibbs, takes place at Hill Auditorium and is sponsored by the UM School of Music, Theatre, and Dance.

The A Cappella Choir, under the direction of Steve Lorenz, is the only high school ensemble performing, alongside the UM University Choir, UM Chamber Choir, UM Women’s Glee Club, Oakland University Chorale, Wayne State University Concert Chorale, and the Madrigal Chorale.  The concert closes with a grand finale performance of Gloryland (Gibbs), by the combined choirs, conducted by Stacey V.
