Northern Michigan University hosts AAPS homebuilding students; refers to them as ‘the program in Ann Arbor that everyone wants to be’

Northern Michigan University hosted Mark Valchine, AAPS Homebuilding teacher, and students Grace Colone, Noah Mattson, Jonah Kauffman, Josiah Atkinson, and Robert Connors last weekend.

“This was an amazing experience and validated all the hard work we do here in A2 to educate and build up our students,” said Valchine. “The university rolled out the red carpet for us with student ambassadors working with our students from the moment we arrived.  They had a welcome message on the Jumbotron screen during the hockey game we attended and the university president invited us to his suite to talk with our students.”

Valchine said the day included tours of campus and the dorms.

“We were referred to as ‘The program in Ann Arbor that everyone wants to be,'” he said. “They are really impressed with what we do and how we do it.  They explained their Construction Management program to our students and let them know they would fit in and likely be ahead of their peers.”
