Discovery Kitchen makes smart snacking fun for students at King Elementary

Strawberry yogurt bark was a hit with the kids

There’s no question that Gen Z students are quickly becoming the “snacking generation.”
With school, sports, and other extra-curricular activities, students not only need healthy
meals, but snacks that will keep them energized all day.

At King Elementary this week, AAPS staff organized a Discovery Kitchen program activity in the cafeteria where students tested Strawberry Yogurt Bark—a tasty new snack option.

All students were invited to sample the treat and take recipe cards to create the snack at home.

Through Discovery Kitchen, students experience tasting events and are given recipe cards to introduce them to new foods and flavors. Each month brings a new, exciting theme that blends exciting menu items and education initiatives together for an immersive experience in the cafeteria, classroom and at home.
