“What we would do then is continue to provide supports beyond the third grade year, which as you can see in many other states is satisfactory so we will not get into retention, promotion discussion. We just continue to support the students as they move up,” Superintendent Jeanice Swift on what AAPS will do with students that aren’t reading at grade level at the end of third grade.
