The Ann Arbor Publics Schools’ K-12 Art Exhibition will be at the Ann Arbor District Library downtown location ( 343 S. Fifth Ave.) from April 18 to May 29. An opening reception will be held May 2 from 6-8 p.m.

Allison Zolad, a first-grade teacher at Thurston Elementary School, has reached her goal of getting a bookshelf and cozy reading rug for her classroom, thanks to a project she posted on DonorsChoose.org. Members of the Thurston community, alumni and donated gift certificates helped her reach her goal. Even strangers contribute, she said.
