Saturday, March 2nd, at Pioneer High School, the Skyline Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras participated in MSBOA Band and Orchestra Festival. Each orchestra prepared three concert pieces performed for a panel of three judges followed by performing a piece that they had never seen before for one judge in the sight reading room. Students and director are allowed to study the sight reading piece for 5 minutes before performing for the judge. All students performed at a high level and received great feedback from the judges. Groups are rated on a scale of 1 to 5 with a 1 rating being superior. Philharmonic Orchestra received a division 2 rating and Symphony Orchestra received a division 1 rating. Symphony Orchestra has qualified for MSBOA State Band and Orchestra Festival in early May. It was an honor to be on stage with these fine musicians this weekend. Go Eagles!
