Seven members of the Pioneer and Skyline choirs are selected to participate in the MSVMA All-State Honors Choir

Pioneer Choir participants (L-R): Walter Groening, Bowen Zou, Noel Gozon, Lily Drummond, Sola Peters, and Riley Dominick.

Seven members of the Pioneer & Skyline Choirs were selected to participate in the MSVMA All-State Honors Choir.

Every year, over 1,000 students from across Michigan audition for the Honors Choir program in October, and the top 500 are selected to participate in the Regional Honors Choir, held in December.  Those students complete a second audition process in December, and the top 240 advance to State Honors Choir, held in January.
The top 80 students, statewide, advance to the All-State Honors Choir from the over 1,000 who originally auditioned for the Regional Honors Choir back in October.

The MSVMA All-State Festival is the highest designation in Michigan, recognizing the top soloists, ensembles, and choirs from across the state.  The students will travel to Michigan State University from May 7-9, to sing under the direction of Dr. Amanda Quist, director of choirs at Western Michigan University.

Congratulations to:

  • Pioneer High School Choirs: Riley Dominick, Lily Drummond, Noel Gozon, Walter Groening, Sola Peters, & Bowen Zou
  • Skyline High School Choirs: Claire Hurley
