Board of Education elects officers at 2026 Organizational Meeting

Board of Education officers, Leslie Wilkins, Glynda Wilks, Torchio Feaster and Don Wilkerson.

The Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education re-elected Torchio Feaster to serve as their president at their Organizational/Regular Meeting on January 14, 2026. Glynda Wilks was voted in as vice president. Leslie Wilkins was selected to serve as the board secretary and Don Wilkerson was re-elected for the role of Treasurer.

In addition to elect officers at their meeting, the trustees were recognized for their service as the State of Michigan recognizes January as School Board Appreciation Month.

Superintendent Jazz Parks said this annual recognition is but one opportunity to show our year-round appreciation for these servant leaders and begin to better understand how local trustees work together to prepare today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders. “We encourage our Ann Arbor Public Schools community to join with others throughout our state and nation to thank the individuals who provide grassroots governance of public schools,” Parks said. “We thank members of the Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education:  Susan Baskett, Torchio Feaster, Rima Mohammad, Susan Schmidt, Don Wilkerson, Leslie Wilkins and Glynda Wilks for their service.”
