Westerman preschoolers join ‘World’s Largest Exercise Class’ for 15th year of Project ACES

For the 15th year, Westerman Preschool took part in Project ACES (All Children Exercise Simultaneously), a program that promotes physical activity to its youngest learners. About 200 children, accompanied by their teachers, paraded through the music-filled school, moving together in various ways.
The event not only promoted physical fitness but also fostered a sense of community as the entire preschool population moved together in unison.

Dubbed “World’s Largest Exercise Class,” the ACES initiative is designed to encourage regular exercise habits from an early age.

The parade took some logistics to get the preschoolers moving through the building at the same time, said AAPS physical therapist Kathy Gaines.

“Because the teachers talk about how it will work to prepare their students, they get very excited about it,” she said, “even if it only lasts about 15 minutes!”

To top it off, the students received a healthy snack after their fitness parade, a certificate, and a medal to proudly display at home.
