Westerman preschoolers boogie for global fitness on Project ACES Day

ACES (All Children Exercising Simultaneously) Day turned the hallways into a dance party

The hallways of Westerman Preschool transformed into a lively dance party today. The fun was all part of ACES (All Children Exercising Simultaneously) Day—an annual global event in which kids get moving to celebrate physical fitness.

The students moved to the music down the corridors accompanied by their animated teachers while administrators were eager to give high-fives from the sidelines.

“It’s a great way to get everyone excited about exercise and bring everyone together—the teachers and the students—for a fun day of fitness,” said Kathy Gaines, the physical therapist who coordinates ACES Day at Westerman. “

Gaines first brought ACES to Westerman in 2008, starting small before growing it into the schoolwide fitness parade it is today. Though the pandemic forced a two-year hiatus, the tradition joyfully returned this year for its 14th celebration at the preschool.
