Welcome to the new AAPS News!

You may have noticed some changes at the AAPS district news site. There’s a new design, a front page that changes daily, a “Latest News” page full of recent stories, and a page dedicated to information about the tech bond.

You’ll also notice that you can find AAPS on social media sites. You can now use Facebook and Twitter to easily keep up with the latest happenings in our bustling public schools. Even better, we’ve announced a giveaway: If you’re one of the first 100 people to “like” us on Facebook or to follow us on Twitter, you’ll be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card to Nicola’s Books. The winner will be announced next week.

As the new editor of the AAPS News, I am continually impressed by the people I meet, whether it’s the dedicated parents, the accomplished students, or the indefatigable individuals who work for the district. I’ve had a blast covering events like a district-wide dodgeball tournament and the first-ever “Acapella-palooza.” I can’t wait to learn more.

I encourage you to contact me with your feedback about the new site, and also about story ideas. It is my sincere hope that the AAPS News reflects all that is vibrant and ingenious in our fantastic public schools.

Best,

Tara Cavanaugh, AAPS News Editor
