Video: Positive environmental and health effects of AAPS’ Electric School Bus Program

AAPS Manager of Projects Moe Nagpal discusses the program at East Michigan Electric Association’s Drive Electric event

In this video, AAPS Manager of Projects Moe Nagpal discusses the positive environmental and health effects of AAPS’ Electric School Bus Program at the East Michigan Electric Association’s Drive Electric event  held on April 27 in Saline.

At the event, organized by Michigan Clean Cities, participants had the opportunity to test drive passenger electric vehicles and tour an electric school bus operated by AAPS and Durham School Services.

“The attendees learned how the electric school bus worked using battery-powered motors and how it was charged using fast DC charging stations at the bus depot,” said Nagpal.

Nagpal explained that attendees discovered the health and safety advantages of electric buses, including elimination of tailpipe emissions, better air quality for students, and quieter operation. Discussions also covered AAPS’s ongoing fleet electrification efforts, including their long-term zero-emission objectives and investments in charging infrastructure and solar power systems.
