We’re pleased to invite you to another fantastic art exhibition to enjoy the marvelous creations this March during Youth Art Month in downtown Ann Arbor and at the downtown Ann Arbor District Library, 343 S. Fifth Ave.
Youth Art Month (YAM) is an annual event in March, designed to emphasize the value of art education for all youth. For many years dating back to 1965 downtown Ann Arbor businesses have partnered with the art teachers of the Ann Arbor Public Schools to coordinate the display of thousands of works of art made by Ann Arbor Public School students.
YAM provides an opportunity to connect our community with our youth’s creativity, to illustrate the importance of visual art, self expression, art education for all children, and to encourage public support for quality school art programs.
“The community is always excited for this special event,” says Eberwhite Elementary art teacher Sarah George. “Walking by and admiring the beautiful art in the storefront windows puts so many smiles on people’s faces and brings a lot of joy, happiness, and inspiration into our daily lives as well as helps support the fantastic businesses in Ann Arbor! Be sure to go for a walk downtown with your families this month to enjoy and appreciate all the wonderful art and creative hard work our students have done! Viewing student artwork will help you see the vital role of elementary art education. Through our art programming, enthusiastic and imaginative kindergarten artists become sophisticated, talented, and expressive high school art students!”

The Library Show has an opening on Thursday April 20th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The art work will be displayed on the lower level, in the Youth Department and on the third floor. The art will be at the library open during normal library hours and in the storefronts of Downtown A2 businesses through March 31st.
