Pioneer choirs treated to UMS masterclass with bass soloist Christian Simmons

Three singers performed for and were coached by Simmons during the masterclass

The Pioneer Choirs Friday afternoon held a masterclass with Christian Simmons, bass soloist for the upcoming UMS production of Messiah. 

Three students—Mia Abbasi, Stella Peng, and Abby Rohrer—sung for Simmons, who offered feedback and coaching on their performances. 

“We have collaborated with the UMS Learning and Engagement team for over a decade on these types of masterclasses,” said Pioneer Director of Choirs Steve Lorenz, “and are pleased to welcome them back.”
