Pioneer Boys Swim and Dive team win another state championship

Pioneer’s Boys Swim and Dive team are back on top, winning the MHSAA Division One state championship on Saturday, March 14th at Oakland University. It’s the team’s fifth state title over the last six years. After finishing second in the state last year, Pioneer won this year’s championship with 283 points, 29 points ahead of runner-up Northville.

Pioneer senior Edward Zhang claimed the state title in the 200 yard individual medley and junior Charles Knoepp won the 500 free. Pioneer’s 400 yard freestyle relay team of 12th grader Henry Baumhover, Knoepp, 12th grader Cameron Kline and Zhang also won the state championship.
