Logan Elementary celebrates Pi Day with math activities, pie for dessert, and more

Logan Elementary held its Pi Day celebration on Friday, incorporating both educational and entertaining activities for students.
The event featured pie served in the cafeteria during lunch. Fifth graders participated in a challenge to recite Pi to 50 digits, with the reward of delivering a pie to the face of teacher Hiroaki Totsuka. Throughout the day, classrooms received visits demonstrating how Pi relates to circles and the number 3.

Math Coach Natalie DePasquale and parent Ruth Estabrook shared photos from the day, which showcased the school’s approach to engaged learning at Ann Arbor Public Schools.
