Lawton fourth grader wins the Michigan Doodle for Google contest

Now Ellis Richardson needs votes in the national competition

Lawton fourth grader Ellis Richardson needs your vote! Ellis won the Michigan Doodle for Google contest which asked students across the country to share their wishes for the next 25 years. Bravo, Ellis! And now he needs help to become the national winner. VOTE before June 4 at https://doodles.google.com/d4g/

When submitting his entry, Ellis wrote: “My Doodle tries to capture my hope for the future. I used each letter to represent one of these hopes. The letters represent rebuilding the environment, enough clean water for everyone, world hunger being solved, enough housing, renewable energy, and electric cars which would solve traffic pollution. All of these represent My Wish For The Next 25 Years.”

Ellis was inspired to enter the contest after a classmate of his won last year for the state of Michigan. Ellis’s parents, Lisa and Zac, add: “We are so proud of how hard Ellis worked on his idea and what he wanted to portray with each letter. His creativity and his thoughtfulness about his work and what he hopes for 2050 are our favorite parts. His teacher, Emily Vohra, is so supportive of Ellis’s creativity and always loves to know what writing or creative projects he’s working on. He is so lucky to have a teacher that likes to know each kid so individually.”
