The community is invited to view sophomores’ independent research and creative works at MYP Exhibition
Every January, Huron sophomores get the chance to show off what they’ve been working on all semester—whether that’s building a boat, learning ethnic cooking or photography, or delving into sports, science or technology.
Tonight’s Huron High School MYP Personal Project Exhibition is an annual event held for 10th-grade students in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) who selected a project of personal interest to them at the start of the school year.
These projects cover a wide range of topics and have required students to apply skills such as research, planning, self-management and communication. During the exhibition, students present their personal projects to fellow students, staff, parents, and community members.
“We hope students can learn more about themselves as learners by applying skills in pursuit of a meaningful goal and the creation of a product,” said Huron IB Facilitator (MYP) Todd Newell. “The project allows students to take ownership of their learning and provides evidence of personal growth and development.”
The community is invited to attend the event tonight, Jan. 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the school gymnasium, 2727 Fuller.
