Huron High School students excelled at the recent Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) State Solo and Ensemble Festival.
In fact, Huron was the most represented school in the state with 130 solo and ensemble events, receiving the most excellent ratings in 109 events (and 19 received a rating of good); and had 11 students nominated as an Outstanding Soloist—the most students in the state.
“All of this success would not be possible without a strong and supportive community that values the arts,” noted Huron Orchestra Director Timothy Krohn. “Many thanks to all of our outstanding private teachers who do amazing work with our students, to the parents/families who have supported their student’s musical journey over all of these years, and to our Huron Administrative team lead by Ché Carter who are strong advocates of the performing arts at Huron!”
The 11 Outstanding Soloists are:
Nathan Leung, alto saxophone

Catherine Li, trumpet
Fonsea Bagchi, horn
