4th-graders at Abbot do the math, raise money for St. Jude Hospital

Abbot teachers Annette Stojcevich and Cynthia Heusel help 23 of their students raise $720 for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Each participating student was challenged to complete 200 math problems, getting sponsorships from family and friends.

Rising Scholars lifts students’ grades, expectation for college

Students at all three Ann Arbor comprehensive high schools are in their second year of the Rising Scholars program, a partnership with U-M’s Center for Educational Outreach. It targets bright students with extra support to encourage them to excel, take advanced classes and attend college.
