Community Ensemble Theatre is presenting Simon Evans and Debris Stevenson’s adaptation of Edmond Rostand’s legendary play, Cyrano de Bergerac, fresh off performances in the West End. Faithful to the story and spirit of the original play, this new version explores and expands themes and characters with dynamic energy and magnificent language. CET fills Community High’s Craft Theater with laughter, intrigue, and action, creating the romantic world of Cyrano de Bergerac with panache.

The play, running November 12th-15th, follows Cyrano, a talented poet and soldier, who believes his prominent nose makes him unworthy of love. When Roxane, a woman he secretly loves, falls for Christian, a handsome but inarticulate fellow soldier, Cyrano agrees to write Christian’s love letters, expressing his own feelings for Roxane.

Since September, approximately 80 students making up the cast and crew have worked diligently to be prepared for tech week, which is the time in which these students add finishing touches to the show so they’re ready to perform it in front of others.

CET brought in a fight and intimacy coordinator Joe Wright to help with the stage combat and the on stage intimacy scenes. The fight choreography is something the students have been working hard on and they’re excited to show it to friends and family during the performances because they believe it adds a new level of excitement to the play.

Tickets are available here. The Thursday and Friday performances are already sold out so get your tickets now. Performances are at 7:30 PM on November 12th, 13th and 14th and 2 PM shows on Saturday, November 14th and Sunday the 15th.
