Skyline Arts Benefit & Collage Concert to be held Feb. 11 at Skyline High School

The event will benefit Skyline music, art, and theatre students

Skyline High School will celebrate the amazing talents and artistry of its students at its annual Arts Benefit & Collage Concert.
The concert will be held on Wednesday, February 11, at 7 p.m. at Skyline High School, located at 2552 N. Maple Rd. in Ann Arbor.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students/seniors and are available for cash or charge at the
door or at https://skylinefriendsofthearts.ludus.com/index.php
More than 250 students in Skyline’s band, orchestra, choir, and theatre programs will be performing,
and the lobby will be filled with pieces from Skyline’s visual artists. It’s a magical evening, with a
collage concert format that lets each performance flow immediately into the next.
The Arts Benefit & Collage Concert is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Skyline’s robust musical,
drama, and visual arts programs. Skyline Friends of the Arts, a parent-run booster organization, will
use the money raised for arts-related needs, including equipment, uniforms, travel to competitions,
and scholarships.
“The arts give students a powerful outlet for expression, creativity, and connection. They help our
students find their voices, build confidence, and engage with school in meaningful ways,” said
Skyline Principal Casey Elmore. “When we invest in the arts, we are investing in the whole child.”
Skyline Band serves more than 130 students each year in marching, concert, and jazz bands while
Skyline Choir has 75 participants in three choirs and an award-winning pop a capella group, Skyline
Blues.
Skyline Theatre has more than 100 students running lights and sound, building and moving set
pieces, constructing costumes, and wowing audiences on stage in three incredible mainstage shows
each year.
Skyline Orchestra serves 107 students in three levels of orchestra as well as smaller chamber
groups and a Mariachi Ensemble. And Skyline’s Visual Arts Department serves as many as 900
students each year when it is fully staffed. It prides itself on offering a range of disciplines, including
200 level courses in Digital Photography, Graphic Design and Ceramics and independent study.
Skyline’s Arts Benefit and Collage Concert is grateful for its sponsors, including Carl Luhrs,
McClatchy Orthodontics, University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, Bank of Ann
Arbor, Kristen Roy-TapRoot Wealth, Rehmann, and Liberty Athletic Club. All ticket sales for the
evening will be matched by a generous donor.
