Social networking workshop Thursday for parents

The Washtenaw Area Council for Children hosts a workshop Thursday, Nov. 19 for parents and others interested in online safety issues for children. “SAFETY’NET: Social Networking and Online Gaming” is a workshop designed to help parents better understand what their children are talking about or doing online.

Join trained facilitators from Washtenaw Area Council for Children from 7-8:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19 at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District offices, 1819 Wagner Road for an interactive session where we explore social networking sites and online gaming.  Parents of preteens and teens who have little to no online experience can learn how young people use computers and the session will address how parents may set reasonable limits for online activities.

The event is free but registration is required.  Details: internetsafety@washtenawchildren.org or call 734-434-4215.
