You can learn about Ann Arbor Rec&Ed on its website, its Facebook page, and now on its new blog, A2RecDirect.
Rec&Ed Executive Director Jenna Bacolor launched the blog in September in order to connect with the community in a regular and direct way.
“Every week I share something new, interesting and perhaps surprising from one or two of our programs,” Bacolor said. “I’m also inviting the community into our internal process of planning and providing community education and recreation. Why do we do what we do? What could we do better? It’s important to me to have a regular way to talk with community members about these type of questions.”
The blog, which is updated two to three times each week, is a way to announce discounts, awards won, upcoming events and program information.
Bacolor also features guest bloggers on A2RecDirect. Larry Dishman, likely the longest-serving staff member in Rec&Ed’s history, shared a heartfelt story about his former boss from the 60’s and 70’s.
Dishman also recently wrote about Rick Dekeon, a gym teacher at Northside who passed away earlier this month.
It’s easy to keep up with A2RecDirect; simply subscribe via email or RSS feed on its home page.
