In the video above, Huron’s Chamber Orchestra learns about baroque musical style and history from Olivier Bault. Bault is a member of Apollo’s Fire, a world-famous music ensemble dedicated to baroque music.
The Huron Chamber Orchestra attended Apollo’s Fire’s performance on Nov. 3 at Hill Auditorium. The University Musical Society helped arrange for Bault to visit Huron on Monday for a special session with the extracurricular orchestra group.
The University Musical Society has honored Ann Arbor’s Burns Park Elementary School as its 2009-10 School of the Year. DTE Energy Foundation sponsors the award through a commitment to UMS’s Youth Education Programs. […]

UMS was really excited to facilitate this interaction between the students and the artist! (What was particularly impressive was that the ensemble had only been together for one week…wow.) Special thanks go to their coach and orchestra director Tim Krohn, who is always a great collaborator with UMS.
