Following a rigorous application process, the Tappan Middle School 8th grade Concert Orchestra has been selected to perform at the Michigan Music Conference on Friday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. at the DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids.

Because many supporters will not be able to travel to Grand Rapids, the orchestra, under the direction of Joseph DeMarsh and Kathleen Ford, will present the full program at a pre-trip concert on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Tappan Auditorium.

There is no admission charge for the Ann Arbor performance; the Grand Rapids performance is a ticketed event. (Performers get two tickets; additional can be purchased at www.michiganmusicconference.org).
