Skyline Winter Drumline places 8th at state championships

On March 28, the state championships were held in Saginaw and the Skyline High School Winter Drumline placed 8th out of 13 in the AA Division. With this post are photos that capture the season and a U-Tube video from a competition performance in February.

This is The Ann Arbor Public Schools’ first competitive winter drumline. It is comprised of sophomores and freshmen – the only grades that currently attend the new high school.

A “Friends and Family” final season performance of the Skyline Winter Drumline will be Thursday April 1 at 7 p.m. at the Skyline gym. (enter the school at the center south doors from the lower parking lot, take the stairs on the left to the second floor, follow the hall to the upper level of the gym.)

The drumline will perform a 4-minute show with some explanation of the competitive judging aspects by the drumline instructors. A reception will be hosted after the show in the band room.

The Skyline Winter Drumline performs during the 2009-10 season.
