The Skyline High School DECA chapter took home a slew of awards after attending the DECA District Career and Development Conference/Competition on Jan. 12 at Eastern Michigan University.

The group of 28 students won 27 medals, and 15 of the students qualified for the State Career Development Conference/Competition in Dearborn on March 9-12.

DECA is a co-curricular program for high school marketing and business students. Its activities are integrated into Skyline’s Business Magnet Program and the business electives. DECA competitions use interviews, tests, role-plays, case studies and written projects to evaluate marketing and management skills. Many DECA students continue on to top business schools across the country.
