‘Seussical,’ brings rhyme, talent to Pioneer stage this weekend

From AAPSNews Service

The Pioneer High School Theatre Guild presents the spring musical “Seussical” based on the works of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, with shows running from Saturday, April 23 through Sunday, May 1.

With lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty and based on a book by both, “Seussical” brings to life favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie, the invisible Whos and a little boy with a big imagination, Jojo.

The “Seussical” story centers around Horton the Elephant, who must protect Jojo and all the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers and must also guard an abandoned egg. The powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community emerge triumphant.

All performances will be in Schreiber Auditorium at Pioneer High School, 601 W. Stadium Blvd., at the corner of Main Street and Stadium Boulevard. Shows are scheduled for these days and times:
