The Board of Directors of the Ann Arbor PTO Thrift Shop announced the appointment of their first Executive Director: Ann Farnham.

Farnham’s role as Executive Director became official January 1, 2013. She has most recently served as Director of Promotions and Community Relations for the shop, overseeing marketing, advertising, communications and the distribution of all profits to the Ann Arbor Public Schools and its Parent Teacher Organizations. Under her leadership, the Ann Arbor PTO Thrift Shop has expanded funding to all Ann Arbor Public Schools in support of student enrichment.

Farhnam takes on the newly created role as she continues to lead the growing non-profit organization and resale shop. The timing of this change is significant as September 2013 marks the beginning of the Ann Arbor PTO Thrift Shops 20th year of operation in support of AAPS. The organization and shop were founded during the 1993-94 school year.

“I’m thrilled to be able to usher the shop into its next 20 years of support for AAPS,” Farhnam said.

The Executive Director role broadens Ms. Farnham’s responsibilities to include oversight of shop operations as well as future growth in support of its mission.  The Executive Director will operate within the parameters of the annual budget and report directly to the Board of Directors.

This new position is part-time, with weekday office hours and a new phone contact in the shop, located at 2280 S. Industrial Hwy in Ann Arbor. You can reach Ann Farnham via email at a2ptothriftshop@gmail.com and by phone at 734-585-5594.
