Joseph DeMarsh named an MSBOA Orchestra Director of the Year

Tappan Middle School Orchestra Director Joseph DeMarsh has been named an

MSBOA (Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association) District 12 Orchestra Director of the Year for 2015.

Chosen by the District 12 member directors, this award is presented annually to a director who has demonstrated excellence in the classroom and on the concert stage and has served MSBOA in a significant capacity.

DeMarsh is in his 25th year at Tappan where he teaches orchestra in grades 6, 7, and 8 as well as Music Technology and Exploratory Music.  His groups receive excellent ratings at Band & Orchestra and Solo & Ensemble Festivals.

DeMarsh has served District 12 as All-State Band & Orchestra Audition chair, Festival Improvements Committee representative, and is currently vice president for Solo & Ensemble Festival.
