Huron Science Technology Engineering Program (HSTEP) holds first Design Expo

At the first annual Huron Science Technology Engineering Program (HSTEP) Design Expo May 24,the Huron cafeteria was filled with engineering students and their final projects, along with many friends and family who came to see their work.

The 30 engineers and other professionals who judged the projects included employees from Google, University of Michigan Engineering Program, General Motors, Toyota, and others.

The winners of the first annual H-STEP Design Expo are listed below:

Introduction to Engineering Design (IED)
1st Place: Allison Baker, Elizabeth Wallinga, Akhil Manchanda
2nd Place: Anun Kumaran, Jessica Chen, Nina Schotland
3rd Place (3-way tie): Karsin Dass with Rodolfo Rodriguez and Cameron Garay, Sage Garrett with Jessica Li and Shriya Goel, and Matthew Stoll with Alexa Lyon and Jadyn Smith
Principles of Engineering (POE)
1st Place: Lauryn FitzGerald, Max Bogun, and Keyen Yockey
2nd Place: Alex Kaipainen, Lucas Lahann, and Thomas Larsen
3rd Place: Peyton Carroll, Gillian Tibbetts, Giselle Roca and Noah Frassrand
Engineering Design and Development (EDD – Capstone)
1st Place: Miah McCallister, Sara Soroka, Jincong Hu
2nd Place: Ana Connolly, Trevor Kieft, Elizabeth Lochocki
3rd Place: Ethan Cohen, Samuel Kohn, Eli Schmitter
