Huron grad makes it big as writer

Huron High School graduate Cherry Chevapravatdumrong has traded law for laughs, according to a feature story recently published by the Chicago Tribune.

After earning a degree from New York University Law School, she was moving toward a corporate law career, but instead headed for the west coast. Now she spends her days writing scripts and also has written novels for teen girls under a shorter pen name, Cherry Cheva.

It’s a far cry from her early writing experiences, keeping a diary in third grade and, as a “River Rat,” serving as editor of the Huron High School school newspaper and writing for the literary magazine.
