Free jazz concert Dec. 7 will feature AAPS high school bands & Be-Bop Spartans

The Huron High School Jazz Band will host a free concert on Thursday, Dec. 7 featuring the 19-piece Michigan State University Be-Bop Spartans as well as performances from jazz bands from Community, Huron, and Pioneer high schools.

“Tonight We Swing V” will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Meyer Auditorium at Huron High School, 2727 Fuller Road.

Guest artist will be drummer Harvey Mason, who has recorded with Herbie Hancock (Head Hunters), George Benson (Breezin’) and many famous artists.  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvey_Mason

The Be-Bop Spartans are a young, swinging college band playing the repertoire of the great jazz masters as well as a wide range of soul, swing, blues, and gospel. The group’s instrumentation includes saxophone, trombone, trumpet, bass, drums, piano, guitar, and vocalists.
