School closed Wednesday, weather monitoring continues

Due to weather and road conditions, school is canceled for Wednesday, February 10 in The Ann Arbor Public Schools. All after school/evening activities are canceled as well.

The winter student count which was scheduled for Wednesday will take place on Thursday, Feb. 11, instead. The student count day is used to determine the amount of per-pupil funding school districts receive from the state.

Evening events and after-school activities in The Ann Arbor Public Schools including athletics, kindergarten roundups, parent meetings and recreation classes and activities have also been canceled due to ongoing snowfall in the area. Events were also canceled Tuesday evening as the season’s first winter storm swept in.

School officials continue to monitor weather conditions.

When school is closed a message will be sent to parents via the SchoolMessenger system as well as all the usual media outlets. Updated information about school closings will be posted on the home page of the district’s Web site. The school closing hotline is 734-994-8684.
