Schools across the district celebrated National African American Parental Involvement Day Monday with assemblies, inspiring talks, classroom visits, parent luncheons, and more.
The day culminated in a talent-packed NAAPID at Night 20th Anniversary in Ypsilanti, where the theme was “NAAPID: The Bridge to Parent Involvement, Cultural Inclusion and Education.”
The late Joe Dulin, an esteemed AAPS administrator, started the day 20 years ago as a way to get parents more involved in their children’s education.
